Madurai, July 5: A four storey under construction building collapsed in Tamil Nadu's Madurai on Friday, July 5. The incident took place near Usilampatti around 6 pm. A rescue operation underway. So far, three people, reportedly labourers, have been rescued. The injured have been hospitalised for medical treatment. According to news ANI, the trio were rescued from the debris. Meanwhile, a cause of the incident is unknown. In the visual, an under-construction construction building can be seen turned in to debris. Police officials and a JCB machine can be seen carrying out the rescue. A police investigation will be launched into the incident.

On Tuesday, 18 people were killed and more than 50 injured in a wall collapsed in Malad, a suburb of Mumbai. According to reports, the wall collapse was a result of heavy showers in Mumbai which poured in the city for over 48 hours. On Monday, in a similar incident, six labourers were killed in Pune after a wall collapsed on makeshift shelters.
