Chennai, December 31: In what is another heinous act of children being secually abused, several girls of a government authorized home in Tiruvannamalai were sexually assaulted for years, reported The Times of India. The victims disclosed what happened with them to the district child protection officer, D Kokila. The victims belonged to Mercy Adaikalapuram Missionary Home for Children and said they were videographed and photographed while taking bath. Kandasamy was quoted saying by the Times of India that, “We checked the home’s computer, but there was no evidence." The evidence seems to have been deleted, he said.

M R Sibi Chakravarthy, Tiruvannamalai Superintendent of Police, said the hard disk was seized and is in the custody of the mahila court. He added that the police would obtain the court’s permission for sending it to the forensic laboratory in order to get back any data that has been deleted.

Reports say that children in the house have been repeatedly assaulted and sexually abused as the home has been functioning for more than eight years. Orphans were targeted repeatedly for years, according to information. The manager of the house has been booked under the POCSO Act 2012 under sections 354 (A) of IPC read with 8, 11, 21 (2) of the POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act), 2012.
