Tamil Nadu Districts And Puducherry Declare Holiday For Schools & Colleges Due to Continuous Heavy Rains
Puducherry Chief Minister V Narayanasamy on Wednesday announced that both government and private schools will remain closed on Thursday due to the heavy rain. On Wednesday, owing to the continuous heavy rainfall, all schools in Madurai district and Ramanathapuram were closed.
Tamil Nadu, October 31: Due to heavy rains in Rameswaram, District Collector Veeraragavarav has declared holiday for today in all the schools across the seven districts in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. Holiday has been announced in the schools for the second consecutive day on Thursday.
Puducherry Chief Minister V Narayanasamy on Wednesday announced that both government and private schools will remain closed on Thursday due to the heavy rain. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) had predicted heavy rainfall at isolated places over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal, Konkan and Goa and South Interior Karnataka for Thursday. On Wednesday, owing to the continuous heavy rainfall, all schools in Madurai district and Ramanathapuram were closed. Educational institutes in other districts like Vellore, Virudhunagar, Tirunelveli, Tuticorin, and Theni also declared a holiday in all government and private schools.
