Chennai, December 22: In a heartwarming scene that took place in the middle of a protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) in Tamil Nadu on Friday, Muslim protesters made way for Lord Ayyappa devotees who were en route to Sabarimala temple. According to a report by News 18, the Muslim protesters stood back amid the evening Namaz to make way for devotees who were on their way to the Sabarimala temple in Kerala from Tamil Nadu.

According to the video that went viral on social media, Muslim protesters were seen leading four Ayyappa devotees in a sea of people, in the middle of the evening namaz on Friday. The report adds that the protest was organised by Coimbatore District Federation of All Jamaath and Islamic Organisations at the Pallakad-Pollachi road in Coimbatore. As many as 15,000 people turned up for the protest demanding unconditional withdrawal of the Citizenship Amendment Act, 2019.

The report adds that when Muslim protesters began their evening namaz, traffic came to a standstill due to which the Ayyappa devotees were stranded. Seeing this, a volunteer from the gathering decided to lead the devotees through the crowd. Violence rocked the entire nation with protests and demonstration being held against the contentious Citizenship (Amendment) Act.

A similar incident was reported from the national capital earlier this week where people formed human chain around Muslims as they offered namaz amid protests against CAA. The heartwarming scene took place outside the gates of Jamia Millia Islamia University in southeast Delhi.
