Swine Flu Outbreak in India: H1N1 Virus Claims 40 Lives in Rajasthan; Gujarat, Delhi and Haryana Affected Too

Till now, a total 1036 cases of Swine Flu have been found positive in Rajasthan and 40 deaths have been reported in the state.

Jaipur, January 18: Swine Flu cases are on a rise across India this month with Rajasthan being the worst-hit state. Till now, a total 1036 cases of Swine Flu have been found positive in Rajasthan and 40 deaths have been reported in the state. According to data by the state health department, 4,091 people have been tested for swine flu from 1st January 2019 and as many as 1036 cases have been found positive. Meanwhile, other states including Gujarat, Delhi and Haryana have also reported a surge in H1N1 (swine flu) cases. Reports inform that 210 cases were reported in Gujarat, 168 in Delhi and 128 in Haryana. In the wake of the outbreak, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and Health Minister Dr Raghu Sharma have ordered medical and health department to remain vigilant. Till now, a total 1036 cases of Swine Flu have been found positive and 40 deaths have been reported from several places across the state. The number of cases is more than double the 798 cases reported in all of January 2018. There were 14,999 confirmed cases in 2018 and 1,103 deaths. According to Rajasthan Health Department, 65 cases of Swine Flu were found positive across the state on Thursday. One death was reported in Churu on Thursday. Reports inform that 16 deaths were reported from Jodhpur district this year.

According to a report by PTI, Nagaur and Sikar recorded three deaths each followed by two deaths each in Kota and Pratapgarh, and one death each in Ajmer, Tonk, Ganganagar, Pali, Jalore, Jaisalmer, Barmer, Udaipur and Rajsamand.
