Bengaluru, September 3: On account of the upcoming festivals of Swarna Gowri Vratam and Ganesh Chaturthi 2024, the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has announced that 1,500 additional buses will operate from Bengaluru to accommodate the increased travel requirements of people for three days. The special bus service of KSRTC will be in force from September 5 to September 7 and will also include multiple interstate buses to and fro Karnataka.
KSRTC informed that these extra buses will start from Bengaluru's Kempegowda Bus Station and cover popular tourist destinations such as Mangaluru, Shringeri, Belagavi, Vijayapura, Karwar, Raichur, Bidar, Tirupati, Vijayawada and Hyderabad among many other places. Apart from Bengaluru, special buses will also run from the Mysuru Road Bus Station to Hunsur, Piriyapatna, Virajpet, Kushalanagar and Madikeri. Other Facilities Announced
Provisions for booking computerised tickets in advance for these special service buses will also be available at counters in Karnataka and its neighbouring states. The KSRTC also announced a special discount for these buses. Groups of four or more who booked their tickets in a single reservation could avail of a five percent discount. Moreover, another 10 percent discount would be available on the return journey if tickets for both onward and return journeys were booked simultaneously. Apart from services from Bengaluru and Mysuru, the KSRTC informed that special interstate buses will run from the BMTC Bus Station at Shanthinagar to popular destinations in Tamil Nadu and Kerala, such as Madurai, Chennai, Coimbatore, Palakkad, Thrissur, Ernakulam and Kozhikode. They also said special buses will be operated from all the taluks and district bus stands under their jurisdiction as needed.
