In a big embarrassment for the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Rajasthan, a party minister caught urinating in public. A photograph of the minister urinating near a wall in Ajmer went viral on social media.
Ajmer, October 8: In a big embarrassment for the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Rajasthan, a party minister caught urinating in public. A photograph of the minister urinating near a wall in Ajmer went viral on social media. In the photograph, the minister Shambu Singh Khatesaar can be seen urinating near the election campaign poster carrying an image of state Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje. Khatesar, however, defended himself by saying that it is an old-age tradition.
The Minister also denied that he was urinating near the poster, while speaking to news agency ANI, he said, “The photo of me urinating against a wall is not near the campaign poster.” The minister also claimed that he did not violate the objective of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Swachh Bharat Mission as it is against the open defection and not against urinating. According to the minister, there are was no urinal nearby for kilometres at a stretch, and he was busy in election rally since morning so was forced to urinate in the open. As per reports, Khatesar urinated near the BJP rally in which around 2.5 lakh people were present. So it is quite shocking that there was no arrangement of toilets for the people.
It is not the first incident of any minister urinating in public. In February, a photo of Rajasthan Health Minister Kalicharan Saraf urinating on a wall in Jaipur also went viral on the social media. Saraf called it not a big issue. Last year in June, Union agriculture minister Radha Mohan Singh was seen urinating in the open
