New Delhi, June 29: Former external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj on Saturday informed that she had vacated her official government residence within a month of swearing-in of the new government which took place on May 29. Swaraj's move to vacate her official residence is winning her applause on social media and Twitterati's are praising her setting an example for other politicians. In a tweet, Sushma Swaraj informed that she has moved out of an official residence. "I have moved out of my official residence 8, Safdarjung Lane, New Delhi. “Feel little sad to see a competent minister leaving all of a sudden. Hope it is only for health reasons & carries no political meanings & differences when we find it identical with @arunjaitley ji. Both were important during Vajpaiji-Advaniji era & considered very close to them," another said.
Swaraj, a veteran Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader, didn't contest 2019 Lok Sabha Elections. The current EAM portfolio is held by former foreign secretary S Jaishankar. During her tenure, Swaraj was extremely active and popular for reaching out the Indian diaspora in trouble and helping them.
