Daman and Diu, July 10: Notorious Lady Don, identified as Asmita Gohil, alias Bhuri, was arrested by the Daman and Diu police on Tuesday in connection with a fight that took place at the Nagao Beach on July 6. The police also arrested a man with whom Asmita Gohil had picked up the fight. A knife was recovered from Bhuri's possession during her arrest.

According to reports, Bhuri attacked her friend Prakash Bamniya alias Rahu where they were at the Nagao Beach. Following the quarrel, the police was informed by locals. Cops reached the spot and began their investigation. On Tuesday, the police arrested the Lady Don and her friend. Both accused were sent to judicial custody.

However, since no complaint was lodged, the police later released Bhuri and Rahu. Following the incident, Diu Superintendent of Police (SP), Hareshwar Swami said both have criminal records, and hail from Surat. "A knife has been recovered from the woman. Surat police have also been informed," the SP added.

Asmita Gohil faces several criminal cases. Last year, she was arrested for threatening a shopkeeper, extorting Rs. 500 and forcing him to shut his shop in Gujarat. Earlier, a video went viral in which she was seen abusing and wielding a billhook blade and her friend Sanjay Gohil holding a kitchen knife during a quarrel with a group of men on Holi.

In another case, Asmita along with her partner Kalia was involved in snatching a bike. Her activities earned her the title of "Surat's Lady Don". On her Facebook profile, she has posted various photographs in which she is flaunting pistols, swords and knives. She has also uploaded photos posing with expensive cars and bikes.
