Ahmedabad, September 28: A 13-year-old schoolgirl, identified as Riddhi Mewada, collapsed in her classroom and tragically died due to a suspected heart attack in Surat. Riddhi was one of two twin sisters studying in the 8th grade at Gitanjali School, situated in the Godadara area. The incident has intensified the enigma surrounding the sudden deaths of young people across the state. According to the Times of India, Riddhi, who was seated on the first bench in the middle row, collapsed during the final lecture at approximately 11:30 am. She fell from her bench and became unresponsive, prompting the school staff to contact the 108 emergency ambulance service. Due to her lack of response, they quickly transported her to a nearby private hospital in a parent’s car. Unfortunately, the doctors at the hospital declared her deceased upon admission. Riddhi’s father, Mukesh Mewada, is a textile trader, and their family originates from Rajasthan. They have taken her to their native place for the final rites. According to JC Jadav, inspector at Godadara police station, a case of accidental death has been registered. The postmortem of the body has been conducted, and the exact reason for the sudden death will be revealed in the histopathology report. As per the TOI, this is the seventh death of a youngster in the state since September 20 with six of these reported from Saurashtra cities of Rajkot, Jamnagar, Junagadh, and Morbi.
