New Delhi, April 21:  After Chief Justice of India (CJI) Ranjan Gogoi on Saturday strongly denied allegations of sexual harassment leveled against him by a former employee, a lawyer of the top Court has come out with some shocking revelations in connection with the matter. The lawyer, Utsav Bains, took to social media platform Facebook and claimed that he was offered bribe to frame Gogoi in the sexual harassment case by lawyering and organising a Press Conference against him. However, Bains refused to do so as he thought the allegations were part of a well-planned conspiracy against CJI Gogoi.

In his Facebook post, Bains said the man who offered the bribe looked like a trained agent and he also couldn’t really justify his relationship with the Ex SC Staffer. The post added saying that the agent offered the top Court lawyer a sum of 50 lacs as his legal fees if he agreed to the offer. Moreover, the man urged the lawyer to specifically organise a press conference at the PCI to fake the allegations against the CJI. ‘Larger Conspiracy’ to Destabilise Judiciary: SC on Sexual Harassment Allegations Against CJI Ranjan Gogoi.

The lawyer claimed that he refused to the offer as he found the story facts fishy. After refusing twice, the lawyer was then offered Rs 1.5 Cr after which he asked the agent to leave his office. Seeking details about the conspiracy against the CJI, he then enquired more about this issue from sources in Delhi and every information pointed to a larger plot to make the CJI resign. "I was convinced about a well planned conspiracy after days of getting such credible information", he said in his post.

Here's the post:

The lawyer said he finally went to CJI residence to inform him about the bribe offer and the conspiracy, around 7 pm on Friday, but he wasn't at home. He said after Saturday, he will not be appearing in any case in the court of the CJI. " I have never personally interacted with the CJI or anyone close to him, my electronic records etc are open to any independent scrutiny. I will leave legal practice if anyone can prove that I have associated or even interacted with CJI outside the Court room ever. As a matter of principle I don’t butter or boot-lick judges", he said. Sexual Harassment Allegations Against CJI Ranjan Gogoi: Supreme Court Holds Special Hearing on Allegations of Former SC Employee.

On Saturday, a special bench of the top Court had called an emergency hearing after a former employee at the top court, in an affidavit to several  judges, alleged she was sexually harassed by the CJI. The CJI rubbished all the allegations and alleged a conspiracy behind the allegations, saying that, the independence of judiciary is under very very serious threat. "This is unbelievable. I don't think I should stoop low even to deny these allegations. If judges have to work under these conditions, good people will never come to this office", the CJI said.
