Mumbai, June 19: A tragic incident unfolded early Monday morning in Mumbai as a 20-year-old man, identified as Hamza Khan, collapsed and died after drinking alcohol while partying at a lounge in Mazgaon. Police suspect that Khan died due to cardiac arrest. According to reports from the Yellow Gate police station, Khan, a student residing in Andheri, had joined five friends for a night out at Bay View Lounge on Sunday night.
According to an Indian Express report, Khan arrived at the venue around 10 pm and consumed alcohol during the evening. Around 1 am on Monday, he began feeling unwell and subsequently collapsed after stepping outside. Staff members of the lounge alerted his friends, who promptly rushed him to Masina Hospital in Byculla. Despite efforts, Khan was declared dead upon arrival and during treatment. Authorities have registered an accidental death report and initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding Khan's demise. A postmortem examination was conducted at JJ Hospital, and police await the final report to determine the exact cause of death. In a similar incident in January, an 18-year-old student died of suspected cardiac arrest when he was attending a lecture at a coaching centre in Indore.
CCTV footage showed Raj Lodhi suddenly slumping over on his desk. He was taken to hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.
