Kochi, September 12: In a tragic incident in Kochi, 24-year-old Arundhati, a native of Wayanad, collapsed and died while working out at a gym on Tuesday morning. Arundhati, who had moved to Kochi after her marriage eight months ago, was walking on a treadmill when she suddenly lost consciousness and collapsed. Gym staff and fellow members rushed her to a nearby hospital, but despite their efforts, she could not be saved.

TOI reported that Arundhati, who resided at Sharada Nivas on RMV Road, was married to Rahul. Her sudden passing has left her family and friends in deep shock. In another such incident, James V. George, a 38-year-old assistant professor at Sacred Heart College in Thevara tragically passed away from a suspected cardiac arrest during Onam celebrations on campus on September 11. A native of Kallarkkadu panchayat in Thodupuzha, James was the coordinator of the faculty Onam festivities. Despite being checked by campus medical staff, he collapsed ten minutes later. He was rushed to Medical Trust Hospital but was pronounced dead after efforts to revive him failed.

James' body will be placed at the college on September 12 for students and faculty to pay tribute before being taken to his hometown. He is survived by his brother, Jinu V. George, also a professor at Newman College, Thodupuzha.
