Patna, Sep 19: A jawan of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), who had come to his home to celebrate the birthday of his daughter, was dragged at gunpoint and shot dead by Maoists at Panditika village in Bihar's Banka district. The incident took place on Monday when SSB jawan Sikander Yadav was celebrating his daughter's birthday.
Sikander Yadav of SSB's 48th battalion was posted in Bihar’s Madhubani district. He was celebrating his daughter's birthday when nearly two dozen Maoists came looking for him at his residence. The ultras were reportedly in police uniform. As soon as he came out, they dragged Yadav to some distance before gunning him down. Before killing Yadav, the extrimists called him a police informer. He died on the spot. Police recovered an empty cartriadge of AK47 assault rifle near his body. Yadav had come to his native village on vacation four days back. A similar incident had taken place on Monday in Jammu and Kashmir's Kulgam where an Army jawan was shot dead by militants.
The militants barged into the house of Mukhtar Ahmad Malik in Shurat village and shot him from close range. Malik was a counter insurgent before he joined the territorial army. He was part of 162 Territorial army unit and had come to come to mourn the death of his son.
