New Delhi, November 13: The Srinagar police on Tuesday arrested a female over-ground worker for carrying ammunition in Jammu and Kashmir. According to a tweet by ANI, the woman was carrying grenades and live rounds and was arrested during a search operation at a check-point in Jammu and Kashmir's Lawaypora area. A case has been registered into the matter. The J&K Police has initiated an investigation into the matter.
Earlier in the day, two terrorists were gunned down by security forces while attempting to infiltrate in Keren sector of Kupwara district. In a separate incident on Tuesday, the Army had also foiled an infiltration bid along the Line of Control (LoC) and killed a heavily armed intruder in Jammu and Kashmir's Akhnoor. On Sunday, a Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) terrorist from Pakistan was killed in an encounter in Handwara area of Kupwara. The incident took place after the ultras attacked a security forces party. “In the afternoon hours, a group of terrorists while moving through Handwara was intercepted by a Naka party near Chattipora which led to a brief exchange of gunfire,” a police spokesman said.
