SpiceJet to Operate All Flights From Mumbai Airport T2 While, GoAir to Shift All Domestic Flight Operations to T1
Budget airline SpiceJet on Tuesday informed that it will move its entire Mumbai operations to the Terminal 2 of the city's Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport from October 1, 2019. GoAir, on the other hand, will move all its domestic flight operations to Terminal 1 from October 1.
Mumbai, August 21: Budget airline SpiceJet on Tuesday informed that it will move its entire Mumbai operations to the Terminal 2 of the city's Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport from October 1, 2019. Consolidation of operations will lead to a better synergy and cut down the costs substantially for the airline, which currently operates 150 daily flights connecting Mumbai.SpiceJet Boeing 737 Aircraft, Parked at Delhi Airport, Grounded After Being Hit by Toilet Cart.
The development came a day after Gurgaon-headquartered airline announced shifting its operations to Terminal 3 from Terminal 2 at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport. Ajay Singh, chairman and managing director, SpiceJet said in a statement said, "From October 1, SpiceJet's entire operations at the Mumbai airport will be consolidated at T2. A single terminal operation would not just help us substantially cut down its costs but provide passengers with a seamless and smooth travel experience as they transit between domestic and international flights at one of the country's busiest airports."
According to a Mumbai Mirror report, GoAir, on the other hand, will move all its domestic flight operations to Terminal 1 from October 1. The airline currently operates some domestic and international flights from T2. From October 1, all domestic flights with flight number 2500 to 2900 will operate from Terminal 1, and international flights to Bangkok, Abu Dhabi, Muscat will operate from Terminal 2.
