Solapur, July 31: In a tragic incident, the roof of a building that houses Bank of Maharashtra's branch in Maharashtra's Solapur district has collapsed on Wednesday. Over 20 people are feared trapped and 10 others have been evacuated, reported news agency ANI. In the visuals, the masses can be seen at the spot, while a JCB is carrying out the rescue operations. Earlier this month, a dilapidated building collapsed in Mumbai's Dongri claiming lives of 13 people and injuring several others. The ground-plus-four-storey structure collapsed on July 16. The rescue operations were carried out by National Disaster Response Force, Mumbai Police, and Fire officials.

On July 2, a wall collapse in Pimpripada area of Malad East killed 31 people and injured 90 others. The incident took place when a compound wall collapsed on the adjoining huts. The state government had announced Rs 5 lakh compensation to the kin of the dead and also asked Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation to give the equal amount.
