Mumbai, June 2:  The Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) returned to power in Arunachal Pradesh, while the ruling Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) has secured a second term in Sikkim. The BJP secured a win in 46 out of 60 assembly seats in Arunachal Pradesh, while SKM clinched 31 seats, leaving one for SDF in Sikkim. Here's a list of leading/winning candidates. Of the 60 assembly seats in Arunachal Pradesh, the BJP has won 10 unopposed. Polling in the remaining 50 seats and 32 constituencies in Sikkim was held on April 19. While Arunachal Pradesh recorded 76.44 per cent voter turnout, the overall voting percentage in Sikkim was 79.77 per cent. The BJP had bagged 41 out of 60 seats when the assembly election was held in Arunachal Pradesh in 2019. The JD(U) had bagged 7 seats, NPEP 5, Congress 4 and PPA 1. Two independents were also elected. In Sikkim, the ruling Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) had won 17, followed by the Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF) whose 15 candidates were elected in 2019.
