New Delhi, August 30: Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Friday demanded stern action against the perpetrators in an alleged case of forceful conversion of Sikh girl to Islam in Pakistan. Singh demanded interference of Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan in the matter. "Shocking incident of a Sikh girl being kidnapped & forced to convert to Islam in Nankana Sahib, Pakistan. Call upon @ImranKhanPTI to take firm and immediate action against the perpetrators. Reacting to the development, Union Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal said, "It is a shameful act. This issue will be raised and action will be taken. Friends of Imran Khan who are in other parties in Punjab should tell him to put an end to such things."

According to reports, a Sikh girl, Jagjit Kaur, 19, who had been missing for few days, surfaced on Thursday after she was forcefully converted to Islam in Lahore's Nankana Sahib city. She was also made to marry a Muslim Man. Many videos of the wedding ceremony are going viral on social media.

Surinder Singh, brother of Jagjit Kaur said, "Our family has faced a tragic incident as some goons forcibly entered our house and abducted my younger daughter. They tortured her and forcibly converted her to Islam." He said that after registering the complaint the goons again came to their house and forced them to withdraw the complaint.
