New Delhi, April 18: A man hurled a pair of shoes at Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Member of Parliament GVL Narsimha Rao during a press conference at party headquarters in New Delhi on Thursday. The man has been identified as Shakti Bhargava. He was later arrested by the Delhi Police. At the time of the incident, Rao was briefing about Sadhvi Pragya Thakur’s candidature from Bhopal. Arvind Kejriwal Attacked With Chilli Powder Inside Delhi Secretariat, Attacker Arrested.

The man who hurled shoe was a resident of Kanpur. However, the reason behind this incident is still known. Meanwhile, the BJP alleged Congress behind the attack. The grand old party denied the charges. The party MP Subramanian Swamy demanded probe into the incident.

In a similar incident, last year, a man hurled a pair of shoes at Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik when he was addressing an election meeting in Bargarh district. The chief minister escaped unhurt but the footwear hit his personal security officer.
