Shiv Sena Worker Pours Ink on Man For Criticising Uddhav Thackeray on Social Media Days After Aaditya Thackeray's 'Ignore Trolls' Advice, Watch Video
A female worker of the Shiv Sena poured ink on a man who criticised Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on social media.
Beed, December 31: A female worker of the Shiv Sena poured ink on a man who criticised Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on social media. A video of the incident that took place on Monday was shared by news agency ANI. In the video, the Shiv Sena worker is seen pouring ink on the man. The identities of the Shiv Sena worker and the man who allegedly criticised Uddhav Thackeray were not immediately known.
The incident comes over a week after the assault-cum-tonsuring of a VHP-BJP sympathiser by Shiv Sena workers. Hiramani Tiwari, a resident of Mumbai's Wadala area, was allegedly assaulted and tonsured by Shiv Sena workers on December 19 over an 'objectionable' social media post against Uddhav Thackeray. An FIR was registered in connection with the assault and five accused were arrested.
Ink Poured on Man by Shiv Sena Worker For Criticising Uddhav Thackeray:
"On December 19, I posted that Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray's comparison of Jamia Millia incident with Jallianwala Bagh was wrong. After that 25-30 people thrashed me and tonsured my head," Tiwari had said. On December 17, Uddhav Thackeray had compared police action in Delhi's Jamia Millia Islamia University to Jallianwala Bagh massacre. "What happened at Jamia Millia Islamia University is like Jallianwala Bagh," he had said.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state Vice-President Kirit Somaiya, local BJP MLA R. Tamil Selvan and former minister Ashish Shelar have condemned the assault on Tiwari. Reacting to the incident, Shiv Sena leader and now a cabinet minister Aaditya Thackeray had appealed for calm and for ignoring "nasty social media trolls and lynch mobs" who threaten and abuse all, including women and children.
"I have learnt of an untoward, angry reaction to a nasty, low life troll, who has used uncivil language towards the CM's efforts to maintain religious harmony and remove fear from Maharashtra about CAA. Law and order is a subject of the police and shouldn't be taken into anyone's hands," Aditya had said in a nudge at the Shiv Sainiks who attacked Tiwari.
