Shiv Sena (UBT) Polling Booth Agent Manohar Nalge Found Dead Inside Toilet at Worli Polling Station in Mumbai

Mumbai, May 20: In an unfortunate incident in Mumbai, a 62-year-old polling booth agent from the Shiv Sena Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray faction was allegedly found dead in the city. The deceased, identified as Manohar Nalge, was reportedly found dead inside the toilet of a polling booth in Mumbai's Worli area today, May 20.
The incident is said to have occurred during the fifth phase of the Lok Sabha elections in Maharashtra. According to a report in Free Press Journal, Manohar Nalge was stationed at a polling booth in Worli when he was found dead. Officials said that Nalge was a resident of the BDD Chawl situated at NM Joshi Marg, Delisle Road, near Worli. Soon after being found unconscious, Manohar Nalge was rushed to the KEM hospital. As per the report, Nalge's health deteriorated as he complained of uneasiness after facing hours of discomfort at the voting centre. Although he was rushed to the hospital, the authorities declared him dead on arrival. Hospital officials said that Nalge breathed his last at around 5.45 pm today.
Meanwhile, the Sena UBT has said that Nalge was a long-time polling agent of the party and that the BDD Chawl resident was associated with the Shiv Sena for years. The Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena also alleged that several senior citizens and polling agents felt uncomfortable at the voting centre. The Uddhav Thackeray-led party has blamed the Election Commission for failing to provide basic facilities at the polling booth during the scorching heat and sultry weather as Mumbai voted today for the six seats in the Lok Sabha polls. The Election Commission said that Maharashtra recorded a voter turnout of 49.15 percent in the 13 Lok Sabha constituencies that went to poll today in the fifth and final phase of General polls in the state.
