Bollywood actor Shatrughan Sinha recently came under the radar of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) due to illegal construction inside his eight-storied building. There were several complaints made against the illegal extension of the BJP-MP’s ‘Ramayan’ residence in Juhu, Mumbai after which the civic body took the action and demolished it.
The BMC took an action against the actor-turned-politician and decided to eliminate the illegal work done following complaints. As per the media reports, Sinha had done several alterations in the house including two toilets and a pantry in the refuge area, a toilet on the terrace, an office and prayer room. The veteran actor was at home while the demolition took place and cooperated with the officials.
As per the reports in TOI, a civic official informed, “We demolished all the unapproved constructions, but left the pooja room. We have given him (Sinha) time to relocate it. If he does not remove it, it will also be razed as our work is not over yet.” He also added that Sinha replied to all the legal notices yet there were some of the illegal work still pending which resulted in the demolition.
Talking about the demolition, Shatrughan Sinha said, “The government is encouraging toilets inside houses, so we constructed one in the refuge area for people working in the building. I have no issues with the BMC removing it,” reports the daily. When the actor was asked about whether the demolition was the result of his support for former Finance Minister Yashwant Sinha, he just laughed it off. The former cine star lives with his family including daughter and Bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha.
