Lucknow, August 30: The Uttar Pradesh Police on Friday informed that the 23-year-old missing law student from Shahjahanpur had been located in Rajasthan along with her friend. The Shahjahanpur police also stated that this is the same girl who went missing for nearly a week from Uttar Pradesh's Shahjahanpur, after her father accused powerful BJP leader, Chinmayanand, of sexually harassing and kidnapping her.
Informing about the development in the Shahjahanpur episode, Uttar Pradesh police took to Twitter and wrote, "In the Shahjahanpur episode the girl has been located by Shahjahanpur police in Rajasthan along with her friend. Also, UP Director General of Police (DGP) OP Singh said, "The girl has been found in Rajasthan along with her friend. Our priority was to locate her. Police will do further investigation and take action. The girl and her friend are being brought to Shahjahanpur."
Earlier, the woman's video was widely circulated on social media after she posted it on Facebook, alleging that a "big leader of the Sant Samaj" had "destroyed the lives of many other girls and also has threatened to kill me". She had also requested Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Prime Minister Narendra Modi to help her.
