Shaheen Bagh Protest: Delhi Police Again Appeals to Anti-CAA Agitators to Clear Kalindi Kunj Stretch

Delhi police on have once again appealed to people to end their sit-in at Shaheen Bagh against the Citizenship Amendment Act to ensure smooth traffic movement on the Kalindi Kunj-Shaheen Bagh stretch, which has been closed for over a month due to the stir.

New Delhi, January 21: Delhi police on has once again appealed to people to end their sit-in at Shaheen Bagh against the Citizenship Amendment Act to ensure smooth traffic movement on the Kalindi Kunj-Shaheen Bagh stretch, which has been closed for over a month due to the stir. "We have already appealed to you once before. Meanwhile, more complaints have been received regarding inconvenience due to blockade of Road No.13A, particularly to school children who are facing extreme hardship in reaching their schools, coaching centres and private tuitions. Their parents have expressed deep anxiety in view of forthcoming Board examinations. Delhi Police Appeals to Shaheen Bagh Protesters to End Stir:

Police urged the Shaheen Bagh protesters to vacate the place and restore smooth vehicular movements on the Kalindi Kunj stretch which connects Delhi, Faridabad in Haryana and Noida in Uttar Pradesh. Since the stretch is shut,  lakhs of commuters are forced to take alternative routes -- Delhi-Noida-Delhi (DND) Expressway and Ashram -- leading to traffic jams and wastage of time and fuel. The Delhi Police last week also appealed to agitators to unblock the Kalindi Kunj-Shaheen Bagh stretch.

The Shaheen Bagh protest, which commenced on December 15, entered 38th day on Tuesday as protestors are not willing to quit the fight against the Citizenship Amendment Act. On January 10, the Delhi High Court had refused to intervene on the issue of removal of protestors and put the onus was on the administration.
