Mumbai, October 24: Mumbai Police have rescued nine girls from a sex racket that was being run under the guise of a spa in the city. The police raided a spa in Andheri and busted the spa for running a high-profile prostitution racket. The rescued girls hail from different parts of India, including four from Manipur, two from Mizoram, and one from Meghalaya, West Bengal, and Uttar Pradesh.

According to a report by India Today, Mumbai Police conducted a raid at the Revival Wellness spa in Andheri West on a specific input. They rescued girls who were from other states. The police have arrested the spa manager, Chandrakant Nikam, alias Bunty, but the spa owner, Atul Dhivar, who is the main accused, is absconding. In the meantime, the police suspect several high-profile persons in Mumbai city are linked to the sex racket. The police have filed a case against the accused under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). On Saturday, October 21, the MIDC police busted a sex racket, rescued three women, and arrested a 34-year-old man in connection with the case. The victims were brought to Maharashtra on the pretext of giving them domestic help jobs but were forced into prostitution. According to the police, they received a tip-off that the accused were operating a sex racket from various hotels in Andheri. The police officers posed as customers and approached the main accused, Sharma. He showed photos of seven women and quoted Rs 6,000 for each. In the next stage of the plan, the police team raided the Golden Residency guest house and found women in several rooms while Sharma stood at the cash counter. The trio victims revealed they used to get Rs 1,000 while Sharma used to pocket Rs 5,000.
