Sensex Opens 118 Points Higher, Nifty Nears 12,000-Mark; Rupee Emerges Stronger Against Dollar at Rs 68.85

The BSE S&P Sensex on Wednesday opened at 39,934, up by 118.43 points or 0.30%, while the NSE Nifty50 began at 11,910.30 level with a gain of 44.70 points or 0.38%.

Mumbai, July 3: With just two days remaining for Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman to present the maiden Union Budget 2019, the stock market remained to be behaving normal unexpectedly. The BSE S&P Sensex on Wednesday opened at 39,934, up by 118.43 points or 0.30%, while the NSE Nifty50 began at 11,910.30 level with a gain of 44.70 points or 0.38%.

The good news for the investors on Wednesday morning was that the Rupee gained momentum and emerged stronger to the previous day's close, at 68.85 against the dollar. As per the current updates, Bharat Forge Limited emerged as the highest gainer with 2.47%, i.e. Rs 11.35. Among other gainers in the stock market are HPCL, BPCL, Reliance Power, Indian Oil Corporation, Mindtree, Asian Paints, Castrol India, Berger paints and others.

However, Graphite India emerged as the top loser in the stock exchange today with a decline in shares upto 2.53%, i.e. Rs 8.30. Among the losers include losers were Tata Communications, Dilip Buildcon, Gujarat State Petronet, ONGC, Eicher Motors, Adani Power, ICICI Prudential, Tata Power, HDFC and others.
