Kochi, October 27: In a tragic incident, a couple who ran a YouTube channel were found dead at their residence in Parassala town in Kerala on Sunday, October 27. The police suspect it to be a case of suicide. The couple regularly posted content on YouTube, and the deceased woman came live on the video-sharing platform on Thursday, October 24.

According to a report published by the Mathrubhumi English, the deceased, identified as Selvaraj (45) and his wife Priya (40), were discovered after neighbours alerted the authorities due to their unusual absence. According to the Parassala police, Selvaraj was found hanging, while Priya's body was found on the bed. The couple managed a YouTube channel named Sellu Family, which had around 18,000 subscribers and featured over 1,400 videos. Their last video, posted on Friday night, was a 55-second compilation of their photos set to a farewell song. Priya, who was particularly active on the channel, had live-streamed regularly, with her final appearance on Thursday, when she appeared very happy. Last year, a noted food vlogger from Kochi, Rahul N Kutty, was found hanging at his residence. He was 33. Police said Kutty's parents and friends found him hanging inside his bedroom and rushed him to a private hospital nearby. The vlogger was part of 'Eat Kochi Eat', a popular online platform for foodies in which they introduce the least explored food joints in the city. "We are extremely devastated to share with you all that our beloved Rahul N Kutty has passed away. Kindly keep him in your prayers and wish we & his family find the strength to bear the loss of this beautiful soul," the official page of Eat Kochi Eat posted on Instagram.
