Last year, in Chhindwara district, a 75-year-old woman was murdered in her farmhouse by a man who demanded her anklets. When she refused, he gruesomely hacked off her legs, and he is now serving a life sentence. Another similar case occurred in Rajgarh in 2017, where a woman's throat was slit and her legs chopped off for silver anklets. Uttar Pradesh: Man Allegedly Kills 5-Year-Old Son by Slitting Throat, Locks Himself In Room and Sets Door on Fire To Evade Police in Chitrakoot; Probe Launched.
