Secunderabad, October 23: In a shocking incident in Secunderabad, a man struggling with mental illness allegedly killed his grandmother by pushing her off the second-floor balcony of their home after his mother refused to give him INR 50. The tragic event unfolded in the Kavadiguda area, where the accused, Challa Nithin, reportedly became enraged when his mother refused to give him the money for travel expenses. The altercation escalated with Nithin threatening to kill his grandmother when his request was denied.

According to a report from the Times of India, the incident occurred on Tuesday, October 21, around 5:30 p.m. Following a dispute with his younger brother about transportation, Nithin approached his mother, Challa Kalavathi, asking for Rs 50. In a fit of rage, Nithin allegedly picked up his grandmother, who was sitting in a chair, and threw her off the balcony. As detailed in an India Today report, Susheela landed on the concrete below, sustaining severe injuries that proved fatal. An ambulance was called, but paramedics pronounced her dead at the scene. India Today reported that the police have registered a murder case against Nithin, who reportedly has a history of mental health issues dating back to 2015. As the investigation unfolds, law enforcement is currently on the lookout for the accused, who fled the scene following the incident.
