Bangkok, November 2: To mark the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev, the founder of the Sikh religion and the first of the ten Sikh Gurus, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday released the commemorative coin. The Prime Minister also released a Thai translation of Tamil classic 'Tirukkural' at the "Sawasdee PM Modi" event in Bangkok, Thailand. In a similar move, Pakistan had also issued a Rs 50 commemorative coin to mark 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev.
On November 9, PM Narendra Modi will inaugurate the much-awaited Kartarpur Corridor and dispatch the first lot of pilgrims to visit Kartarpur Sahib gurdwara in Punjab province of Punjab. The Kartarpur Sahib Gurdwara in Narowal district of Punjab province in Pakistan is located around four kilometres from the border near Dera Baba Nanak. Indian can visit the shrine around the year via a corridor. Every day 5,000 pilgrims will be allowed to visit.
