Kolkata, September 4: TMC leader and popular Bengali actress Satabdi Roy has returned the remuneration that she got as brand ambassador from Saradha Group, to the Enforcement Directorate. According to an ANI update, the amount returned is excluding taxes. Roy and other TMC leaders have been summoned by CBI and ED in connection with the Saradha scams. In an earlier letter to the ED, she expressed her desire to return the money and wants the money to reach the poor, according to local news reports.

In July, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) summoned Trinamool Congress MP Derek O’Brien in connection with the Rs. 10,000-crore Saradha chit fund scam. O’ Brien was asked to appear before the investigation agency in the Third week of August.

The Saradha scam came to light in April 2013 and is estimated at over Rs 10,000 crore. The ED has filed a case on the basis of the CBI's FIR.
