Sant Gopal Das Missing Case: Saint on Fast-to-Death to Save Ganga Remains Untraceable, Says Dehradun Police

The police and Doon hospital administration said that Das was admitted to the hospital by his associate while the friends and activists close to Das said that someone from the AIIMS Delhi administration was with Das when he was admitted to the hospital.

Dehradun, December 7: Activist Sant Gopal Das, who has been on a fast-unto-death since June 24, 2018 for a cleaner Ganga, and went missing from his hospital on Wednesday night from a Dehradun hospital, remains untraceable even after two days of his sudden disappearance said police. K K Tamta, Doon Hospital’s Chief Medical Superintendent, was quoted as saying by the Indian Express on Thursday that Das had been admitted to the hospital on the intervening night of December 4-5.

Tamta said that Das left the hospital around 8.30 pm on Thursday and did not return. It took some time for the hospital staff to realize that Das has gone missing and they informed Doon Hospital’s Chief Medical Superintendent after the incident came to light.

However, there is a row over the issue as to who got Das admitted to the hospital. The police and Doon hospital administration said that Das was admitted to the hospital by his associate while the friends and activists close to Das said that someone from the AIIMS Delhi administration was with Das when he was admitted to the hospital.
