Sanitary Pads Will Now Be Available at Assam Industries For Female Employees, Government Issues Order

Guwahati, November 20: The government of Assam has made it mandatory for all factories and industries across the state to keep sanitary pads at the workplace to promote hygiene among women. According to a tweet by ANI, Chandra Mohan Patowary, Assam's Minister for Industries confirmed the incident and said the initiative has been done keeping in mind the welfare of the working women. The decision was taken during a Assam Cabinet meeting, chaired by Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Tuesday. Apart from this, the cabinet also approved financial autonomy for the veterinary department, to enable them to help farmers and entrepreneurs, according to Patowary. Moreover, the minister said that the government is planning to plant bamboos in 1,000 hectares of land. Several important decisions were approved in the Cabinet meeting including the holiday list of the Assam government for the calendar year 2020. Apart from the 35 official holidays, 31 restricted holidays for the year 2020.
