The protest was stopped as they had not saught any prior permission. Suman said that there are around 80 incidents of mob lynching but no investigations have been taken so far. He said that the Centre and state government are suppressing the matter, but SP will not sit and watch, reported India Today. "There is only one option against this tyranny and that is a peaceful demonstration, but the way the protest against government policies was curbed by the administration of Agra, it appears that the Uttar Pradesh government is bent on taking away even the fundamental rights of the people," Ramji Lal Suman said to India Today.
Suman also said that around 40 celebrities have written an open letter to PM Narendra Modi over such incidents. He added that mob-lynching crimes are on a rise and strict action should be taken against them.
