Indore, June 28: After Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Akash Vijayvargiya attacked an official of the Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) on June 26, posters supporting his act emerged in the city stating “Salute Akash ji” on Friday. Following this, Municipal Corporation officials started removing the posters of Akash, who represents Indore-3 Assembly Segment. On Thursday, IMC employees also protested outside the residence of Akash, son of Kailash Vijayvargiya. The BJP MLA was caught on camera thrashing a Municipal Corporation Officer with a cricket bat. After the incident, he was arrested and sent to judicial custody till July 7.

Talking to reporters after the incident, Akash said, "This is just the beginning, we will end this corruption and goondaism. 'Aavedan, nivedan aur fir dana dan' this is our line of action."

Reacting to the occurrence, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath said, "It is really saddening that a BJP leader behaves in such a manner, I congratulate the police for taking action. Law is the same for everyone." Condemning the incident, Congress spokesperson Neelabh Shukla said that the incident has exposed the real face of BJP.
