Lucknow, July 31:  Hindutva leader Sadhvi Prachi sparked another controversy on Tuesday by telling Muslim women to marry Hindu men to get away with old practices. While speaking to media in Mathura, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) leader urged Muslim women to marry Hindu men if they wanted to get rid of practices like triple talaq and Nikah Halala.

“Muslim girls should marry Hindu boys in order to get rid of Nikah Halala and triple talaq. Maulvis who are issuing fake fatwas should be punished as they are spoiling the society,” Sadhvi was quoted in a report by News 18.

The report further informs that the Hindutva leader said that she would meet Muslim women, including Bareilly’s Nida Khan, and request them to accept Hinduism. Reports informed that Nida Khan has openly criticised the practice of triple talaq and domestic violence, prompting the Imam of Bareilly Jama Masjid to issue a fatwa against her.

Firebrand Hindutva leader Sadhvi Prachi, earlier this week, took a dig at the Congress chief Rahul Gandhi, saying that his party would not get a majority in next year’s general elections, and hence, he should think about getting married. On Monday, Prachi offered prayers at the Gorakhnath temple on the holy month of Saavan and said she prayed for a life partner for Congress president Rahul Gandhi.

Speaking to reporters here after visiting the temple, Prachi said, "I have been regularly coming here to seek the blessings of Baba Gorakhnath, but this time I came with a special wish."
