New Delhi, October 31: The Supreme Court on Wednesday refused to give an early hearing to review petitions over the entry for all women in the Sabarimala Temple in Kerala. According to a tweet by ANI, Chief Justice of India (CJI) Ranjan Gogoi said temple will open for 24 hours on November 5 and November 6 and that court has already fixed the matter for hearing after November 11.

The Lord Ayyappa temple in Kerala will be opened on November 5 for the one-day festival of ‘Chithira Attavisesham' and will remain open till November 6. The festival is being celebrated as the birth anniversary celebration of Chithira Thirunal Balarama Varma, the head of Travancore royal family. Reports inform that the holy shrine will be closed on November 6 after athazha pooja and Harivarasanam at 10 pm. After the top Court's verdict, the famed Lord Ayyappa temple had opened its doors for women devotees of all ages on October 17 for the five-day-long monthly poojas in a surcharged atmosphere of protest over the Supreme Court verdict permitting entry of women of all age groups.

To make the visit of devotees to the iconic Sabarimala temple hassle-free, the Kerala Police has announced the implementation of a Digitised Crowd Management System (DCMS) starting this year. With the implementation of this system, devotees can opt for their preferred date and time to visit the 12th-century shrine, bookings for which can be done through the website - sabarimala.com.Devotees can also fix darshan timings and book bus tickets from Nilakkal to Pamba. Earlier this month, the areas near the temple witnessed massive protests over the Supreme Court's decision to quash restrictions on the entry of women between the ages of 10 and 50 into the holy shrine. Reports inform that as many as 3505 protestors have been arrested so far in connection with the violence that broke out in the state, while around 529 cases were registered.
