Russia to Help India in Futuristic Space Projects Including 'Gaganyaan'
India and Russia on Thursday held high-level talks in New Delhi. According to India’s Ministry of External Affairs, Russia will also provide assistance for its maiden human space flight mission “Gaganyaan”.
New Delhi, July 12: With an aim to enhance bilateral co-operation in the field of space science, India and Russia on Thursday held high-level talks in New Delhi. According to India’s Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Russia will also provide assistance for its maiden human space flight mission “Gaganyaan”. National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval and Director General of Russia's space agency ROSCOSMOS, Dmitry Rogozin represented their countries in yesterday’s meeting. Senior representatives of ROSCOSMOS, GLAVCOSMOS, Energia and Energomash were present from the Russian side. Meanwhile, Indian Space Research and Organisation Chairman (ISRO) and Department of Space Secretary K Sivan and the Director of the Human Space Flight Programme also attended the meeting from the Indian side. Both sides agreed to take a strategic approach to elevate bilateral cooperation to the next level keeping in mind special and privileged partnership and India’s priorities such as 'Make in India'. Ajit Doval Meeting Dmitry Rogozin:
The MEA in a statement on Friday said, “There have been frequent contacts between the two space agencies to finalise the details of the Gaganyaan Mission, which will carry Indian astronaut to space in 2022, to coincide with India's 75th anniversary of Independence.” The MEA added, “The Russian side stated that they would like to see India participate in the International Space Station, and offered its full support for this purpose.” AK Rifle Plant Will Become Another Symbol of Friendship Between India, Russia: Vladimir Putin.
Recently, reports also surfaced that Russia once again offered India to jointly develop 5th Generation stealth fighter jet Sukhoi Su-57. “I believe that we should resume this project, Russia is open to that,” reported Russian news agency TASS quoting Deputy Director of Russia’s Federal Service for Military and Technical Cooperation Vladimir Drozhzhov as saying. The Su-57 is a fifth-generation multirole fighter designed to destroy all types of air targets at long and short distances.
