Bulandshahr, March 25: As the Lok Sabha elections 2019 are coming security has been increased across the country to carry out fare polls. While carrying out the security checks, the Uttar Pradesh police on Monday seized Rs 1.06 crore cash from a vehicle near Khurja check-post in Bulandshahr. According to the police, the checking was done in view of the ensuing elections. It is reported that the money was brought in the city to influence the upcoming polls. The individuals carrying the unaccountable case were not having documents about the origin of cash. Election Wing Personnel Seize Cash, Jewels Worth over Rs 3 Cr.

Earlier in a similar incident on Saturday, Jubilee Hills police seized around Rs 1.49 crore cash from two people during the vehicle checking. Police said around 8 pm a bike was stopped at Jubilee Hills check post and found two people carrying Rs 1.49 crore in two bags. The two persons Raghavender (32, Software employee) and Gopinath (47, Accountant) were taken into custody after the duo were unable to provide documents.

Meanwhile, elections in Uttar Pradesh will take place on seven phases starting from April 11. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has fielded Bhola Singh from Bulandshahr seat, while the Indian National Congress (INC) has fielded Bansi Lal Pahadia on the seat.
