Shivajinagar, July 9: Adding to the political crisis in Karnataka, suspended Indian National Congress (INC) MLA Roshan Baig tendered his resignation on Tuesday. The Congress legislator, who was earlier suspended for "anti-party activities" on Monday had said that he would resign from the state assembly. "I have tendered my resignation to the Speaker. He received it and acknowledged it. I will be here [Bengaluru] and I have duties which I have to carry out. I will not go to Bombay or Goa," Baig said after coming out of the speaker's house. Baig had blamed state unit of the Congress party for his decision to quit. The state leadership has failed, there is no accountability," he said. The top Muslim leader was suspended by the grand old party for his controversial remarks after the Lok Sabha Elections debacle.

This development comes after the 14 Karnataka Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) of ruling Congress- Janata Dal (Secular) coalition are in Maharashtra and waiting for speaker's decision on their resignation.
