Robert Vadra Leaves ED Office After Seven Hours of Questioning on Day 2, Priyanka Gandhi Picks Him up After Interrogation

After seven hours of questioning by Enforcement Directorate (ED) Businessman Robert Vadra left the Enforcement Directorate (ED) office. Vadra was grilled for the consecutive second day in connection of money laundering case and illegal foreign assets cases.

New Delhi, February 7: After seven hours of questioning by the Enforcement Directorate (ED), businessman Robert Vadra left the probe agency's (ED) office at around 9 pm. Vadra was grilled for the consecutive second day in connection of money laundering case and illegal foreign assets cases. Vadra, the brother-in-law of Congress president Rahul Gandhi, was questioned for over six hours on Wednesday. The investigators recorded his statement. Vadra arrived at the ED office around 11.30 am.

Congress General Secretary and Vadra’s wife Priyanka Gandhi was also seen outside the ED office after his questioning was over. Yesterday too, Priyanka, dropped Vadra off at the ED’s office in central Delhi after which he Vadra was grilled by a team of seven ED officials of the rank of Deputy Director and Assistant Directors. Priyanka, shortly after dropping her husband, took charge as AICC general secretary in-charge of Uttar Pradesh East, after her formal induction into the Congress party on January 23. During the two days of questioning, Vadra was asked questions relating to transactions, purchase and possession of certain immovable assets in London. The case relates to the ownership of 1.9 million pounds of undisclosed assets abroad, allegedly belonging to Vadra. The ED also lodged a money laundering case against Vadra's close aide Manoj Arora after his role surfaced during a probe by the Income Tax Department into another case under the new Black Money Act and tax law against absconding arms dealer Sanjay Bhandari. Priyanka Gandhi Drops Off Husband Robert Vadra At ED Office Before Heading to Congress HQ to Take Charge as Party General Secretary For UP East.

The questioning came in the wake of an order by a Delhi Court on February 2 directing Vadra to appear before the ED for questioning while hearing the anticipatory bail plea filed by him. The court had on Saturday also granted interim bail to Vadra till February 16.
