Businessman and Congress president Rahul Gandhi’s brother-in-law Robert Vadra on Saturday appeared before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for the third time in connection with money laundering case and illegal foreign assets cases.
New Delhi, February 9: Businessman and Congress president Rahul Gandhi’s brother-in-law Robert Vadra on Saturday appeared before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for the third time in connection with money laundering case and illegal foreign assets cases. Vadra arrived at the ED’s office at Jamnagar House in central Delhi at about 10.45 am. Earlier in the day, Punjab minister Navjot Singh Sidhu also visited Vadra’s residence. The businessman, earlier appeared before the central probe agency on February 6 and 7. He was grilled for six hours on Wednesday, while on Thursday, Vadra was questioned for nearly nine hours. On the first day, Congress General Secretary and Vadra’s wife Priyanka Gandhi dropped him to the ED office. During the two days of questioning, Vadra was asked questions relating to transactions, purchase and possession of certain immovable assets in London. The case relates to the ownership of 1.9 million pounds of undisclosed assets abroad, allegedly belonging to Vadra. The ED also lodged a money laundering case against Vadra's close aide Manoj Arora after his role surfaced during a probe by the Income Tax Department into another case under the new Black Money Act and tax law against absconding arms dealer Sanjay Bhandari.
