His 15-year-old accomplice, Badal Bhuiyan, suffered severe burns when the fertiliser and seed shop they were burgling caught fire. Ranchi, May 26: In a tragic incident, a 12-year-old boy named Amit Turi lost his life during a robbery attempt in Jharkhand's Latehar district. His 15-year-old accomplice, Badal Bhuiyan, suffered severe burns when the fertiliser and seed shop they were burgling caught fire. The incident occurred on Friday night at Pakri village, approximately 5 kilometers from the Balumath police station.

According to a TOI Report, the trio attempted to rob a fertiliser and seed shop. The fire broke out allegedly from a candle they had used in the dark. The shop was completely gutted by the fire. Balumath police arrived at the scene, and a firefighting vehicle was called to control the blaze. Preliminary investigations suggest that one of the thieves may have lit the candle, leading to the fire. Cops said that Badal Bhuiyan was taken to the community health center in Balumath. He was later transferred to the Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in Ranchi for treatment. Sagar Turi remains absconding since the incident.

Latehar Superintendent of Police (SP) Anjani Anjan is overseeing the ongoing investigation into the cause of the fire and the circumstances surrounding the break-in.
