Robbery at Delhi-Bhagalpur Express in Bihar; Cash, Jewellery Worth Rs 25 Lakh Stolen

Patna, January 10: In a shocking incident, a gang of nearly eight to nine unidentified robbers on Wednesday looted valuables worth Rs 25 lakh from passengers from Delhi-Bhagalpur Express. According to reports, the gang looted jewellery, mobile phones and cash from passengers of Delhi-Bhagalpur Express (12350) on Wednesday night. Reports inform that the robbery took place between Dhanauri and Kajra in Bihar's Lakhisarai district. The report further informs that the team of thieves attacked S-10, S-9, AC 3 tier and AC 2 tier coaches of the train. According to a report by ANI, the thieves also thrashed some of the passengers after the resisting them and refused to follow what the robbers said. Soon after the incident, one of the passengers' relative tried contacting Indian Railways on microblogging site Twitter. Earlier in December, the UP Police had busted a train robbery gang where two robbers were arrested following a brief encounter. According to reports, one of the robbers along with a police constable sustained bullet injuries in the shootout.
