Risk and Hardship Allowance Hiked For CAPF Personnel by MHA

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has increased risk and hardship allowance for Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) deployed in sensitive areas and Left-Wing Extremism-affected areas.

New Delhi, February 24: The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has increased risk and hardship allowance for Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) deployed in sensitive areas and Left-Wing Extremism-affected areas. This move from MHA comes after the Pulwama terror attack that killed 40 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawans. As per the new rule, the officer ranks will be entitled to Rs 25,000, which earlier was Rs 16,900 and those upto the rank of inspector entitled to Rs 17,300, which earlier was Rs 9,700. After Pulwama Terror Attack, CRPF Tweaks Standard Operating Procedures to Secure Its Convoys.

MHA in a statement issued on Thursday said, "The decision will immediately benefit approximately 7,80,000 personnel of CAPFs in the ranks of Constable, Head Constable and ASI who were otherwise not eligible earlier. This includes a journey on duty and journey on leave, i.e while going on leave from J&K to home and return."

The order further stated, "This facility is in addition to the existing air courier services for CAPFs that have been steadily extended in all sectors by the MHA to help the jawans cut down on travel time during their journey to and fro from home on leave."

The security forces in CAPF includes Border Security Force (BSF), Assam Rifles (AR), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), National Security Guard (NSG), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), and Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB).
