Mumbai, November 8: Republic TV Chief Editor Arnab Goswami was shifted to Taloja jail on Sunday after police found that he allegedly used a mobile phone at a quarantine centre in Alibaug. Arnab Goswami is currently in judicial custody in connection with abetment to suicide case. When he was being shifted to Taloja jail, Goswami spoke to his Republic TV channel from a police van and alleged threat to his life. "My life is under threat, My life is under threat, I'm not being allowed to speak to my lawyers, I was pushed and assaulted this morning," Goswami told Republic TV reporters. He was taken to Taloja jail after police found that he was active on social media by using someone's mobile phone at the quarantine centre in Alibaug. Arnab Goswami Alleges Threat to Life:

"As the investigating officer of the case, I had written to Alibaug jail superintendent seeking an inquiry report as to how Goswami got access to mobile use and who had provided him with the mobile at the quarantine centre. Thereafter, we shifted him to Taloja jail on Sunday morning," Shaikh added. Goswami was arrested from his Mumbai residence on Wednesday in connection with the 2018 double-suicide case of an architect Anvay Naik and his mother Kumud Naik.

A local court in Alibaug had sent him to 14 days judicial custody till November 18. As part of a precautionary measure for prisoner amid the coronavirus outbreak, he was lodged at a quarantine centre in Alibaug. Anvay Naik and his mother Kumud Naik were found hanging at their Alibaug bungalow on May 5, 2018, leaving behind a suicide note, saying they committed suicide owing to unpaid dues from Goswami's Republic TV (Rs 83 lakh) and two other companies.
