New Delhi, January 24: In the view of Republic Day celebartions at New Delhi’s Rajpath, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) on Friday made an announcement regarding the metro stations that will remain shut during the parade. As per DMRC, entry and exit gates of Central Secretariat and Udyog Bhawan metro stations shall remain closed up to 12:00 pm on January 26. In addition to this, Lok Kalyan Marg and Patel Chowk stations shall also remain closed from 8:45 am to 12:00 pm on the Republic Day 2020. On Thursday, various roads were closed in order to facilitate smooth passage of the parade during full dress rehearsal of the Republic Day celebrations at Rajpath. Bus services and metro services were also affected due to the rehearsal. Central Secretariat and Udyog Bhawan station were remained closed from 5.00 am till 1200 Noon.

ATC Tower at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport on Thursday was lit up in tricolor ahead of Republic Day, which is celebrated every year to mark the day on which Constitution of India came into effect. The Constitution was adopted by the Indian Constituent Assembly on November 26 1949. It is one of the three national festivals in India. The other two national festivals are - Independence Day and Gandhi Jayanti. This year, India will be celebrating the 71st Republic Day.
