New Delhi, January 25: In the wake of Republic Day celebrations, Delhi Metro services will be hampered on Saturday. According to Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) officials, the restrictions have been imposed as per instructions from Delhi Police. The entry and exit gates of some metro stations will also be between 6 am and 12 pm on January 26. The services will only be affected on the Yellow and Violet lines of Delhi Metro. Entry and exit gates of Central Secretariat and Udyog Bhawan will be completely shut from 6 am to 12 pm. Meanwhile, Central Secretariat station will only be used as an interchange station during Republic Day celebrations. Entry and Exit gates of Patel Chowk and Lok Kalyan Marg stations will also be closed between 8 am and 12 pm. In addition to this, parking lots of all metro stations have also been shut down. However, ITO, Delhi Gate, Lal Qila and Jama Masjid stations on the Violet Line will remain open for commuters throughout the day, but some exit and entry gates will remain shut. Gate number 3,4 and 6 of ITO will remain closed, while gates 1, 4 and 5 of Delhi Gate will be shut. Meanwhile, gate 1,4 and 5 of Lal Qila and gate number 4 of Jama Masjid will also be closed till noon due to Republic Day celebrations. The parade will start at 9.50 am from Vijay Chowk and pass through Rajpath, Tilak Marg, Bahadur Shah Zafar (BSZ) Marg, Netaji Subhash Marg and proceed for the Red Fort. A function will also be held at India Gate at 09.00 am, the traffic police said. No cross traffic will be allowed on Rajpath from 11.00 pm on January 25 at Rafi Marg, Janpath, Man Singh Road till the parade is over and 'C'-Hexagon-India Gate will be closed for vehicular movement from 02.00 am on January 26 till the parade crosses Tilak Marg, it said. On Republic Day, no vehicular movement will be allowed on Tilak Marg, BSZ Marg and Subhash Marg in both directions from 10 am onwards, Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Alok Kumar said.
