New Delhi, January 25: The Delhi Police on Friday informed that the two Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) terrorists arrested in last two days were planning to target Lajpat Nagar and a gas pipeline in East Delhi. Also, during the interrogation, it was revealed that these two terrorists – Abdul Latif Ganai alias Umair alias Dilawar and Hilal – had conducted a recce of two areas, reports ANI.

Keeping a tight vigil ahead of the Republic Day Celebrations, the Special Cell of Delhi Police had arrested two JeM terrorists. If believed in the reports, one of the arrested terrorists was the mastermind of the recent grenade attacks in Jammu and Kashmir. Acting on a reliable source, the Special Cell officials of the Delhi Police conducted raids during the night of January 20 and 21, thereby arresting Ganai with incriminating materials. After collecting data, the police officials rushed to J&K and recovered two IED/ grenades at his instance and arrested Hilal from Bandipora. According to police, Hilal had carried out the recee of target areas in Delhi. Later, the Special Cell shared the information with the Jammu and Kashmir Police.
